Changing the lighting of our shots

While filming in the hospital, we found that although the lighting available lit the scene well, we were unable to make the shots as bright as originally planned and so decided that we would use the colour correction tool on Final Cut Pro during the post production stage.

Taking one of the shots of our actressess hands, I used the colour correction to change the whites which made the shot a lot brighter. We really wanted to show a distinct contrast between the brightness of the hospital and the darkness of the shots filmed in and outside the pub as it represented the characters liminality and her in-between state caused by the coma.

On the right is the shot without a change to the white and on the left is after the changes were made.
