Building up sound

During the few hospital shot at the beginning of our film we wanted to build the sound up gradually, making it louder and more intense as the shots went on to create tension, before having a cut to black and silence.

To do this, I copied he sound from the first shot throughout, pasted it onto the next and added that shots sound on top so that there was a gradual increase. I also added mutliple fades so that the increase in volume was smoother. By the last shot there are three layers of sound on top of another and there is a noticable difference between here and the first shot. I then added a slug and removed all sound.

I will use garage band at a later stage to add more diegetic sound such as the beeping of machines.
