Difficulties in filming the hospital scene -(Sarah)

Difficulities in filming so far:

No drip or heart monitor
There was no drip or heart monitor in the operating theatre room that we could use as props so we solved this by the fact we had the clock and timer and buttons on wall which adds a lot more to the effect she's in a hospital. I will still use the heart monitor sound effect as the shots I filmed don't show all of the room, therefore there could easily be a heart monitor, just has not been shown to the audience.

How to film the closeups
Having a birds-eye-view close up shot of the girls face in the hospital bed was a difficult problem as the bed was in the way. However I solved this by standing on the bed with a tripod over the actress and this way the shots were from the right angle.

Change of camera
We had planned to use my DSLR camera for filming, however when the time of filming came it came up with an error sign every time I tried to record. Luckily I was prepared and brought back up camera from the college which although not as detailed in quality, worked just fine and we got all the shots we needed.

Lighting problems
Problems in lighting included the spotlight being too bright. I picked up two umbrella lights and an LED light thinking we would need them, however the operating lights were very useful and could be used for over-head lighting. There was unfortunately a problem with this as the lights contained 5 spotlights, of which were very bright. This made it difficult because the light would only highlight certain parts and made the rest of the frame a lot darker. We solved this by using these lights at a far distance which still worked combined with one umbrella light. We also still used the LED in close up for definition and shadowing.
